Twycross Zoo is the only collection in the UK to exhibit and now breed the rare Tufted deer. The small male fawn was born on 16th June 09 and weighed 1.5 kg at birth which is smaller than a bag of sugar.

Twycross Zoo has become a part of the Prince’s Rainforest Project; a campaign aimed to raise awareness about deforestation and gain support from world leaders in developing new initiatives to ensure the rainforest is worth more alive than dead.

We have just had a baby vicuna twin Geoffroy’s marmosets and twin Common Marmosets born, so come along and see them. There are also peting sessions on the lawn by the Cockatoo restaruant with the donkeys alpacas and rabbits.

A llama has disappeared from Twycross Zoo. The seventy-year-old llama called Beckett was last seen in its enclosure on the morning of Tuesday 31st March and was discovered to have gone missing by zookeeper Liz Cubberley.
