Mouse is doing her best to stay OUT of trouble.

Cat is doing her best to land herself IN it.

They've both had it pretty tough so when they meet by chance they thank their lucky stars.

Weird and wonderful things happen when they're together - but how long can it last? Because everyone has their secrets - and there can only be one WINNER in a game of cat and mouse.

Can't there?

Mouse and his Mum live in the Eden Estate. Even though Mouse is excluded he doesn’t go looking for trouble, but when he falls for Cat, a girl who is very different from him. He gets into trouble, but into danger too.
I liked this book because it is based on modern times also there is love, drama, friendship involved and the relationship between Cat and Mouse is fabulous.
I recommend this book for 10 to 15 year olds.

Lucky Star is about a teenager named Mouse, who is trying to break the habit of a lifetime, and stop getting into trouble. There to help him – or stop him – is his exotic new friend Cat. Their friendship is a strange one. Cat is from a well-off family, and Mouse’s mum runs a drug addict recovery centre. Nevertheless, Cat has trouble written all over her, and when Mouse’s mum stands against the local drug dealer, things get very dangerous very quickly.
Lucky Star is an exciting and emotional book which is suitable for teenagers, but may appeal to adults too. I really enjoyed it, it uses some characters from the already published book Dizzy (also by Cathy Cassidy), which was also fantastic.
