Long ago in the deep ocean, there lived… one smart fish! He wasn’t the biggest and he wasn’t the boldest, but he was the cleverest. What this smart fish wanted more than anything else was to walk upon the land.
But everyone knows that fish can’t walk… can they?

REVIEW
How do you get across to children the tricky concept of evolution?
Chris Wormell starts with the story of a clever-clogs fish who dreams of walking on the land and devises a set of feet so he can go for a wander on the beach.
Pretty soon he gets fed up of being the only fish out of water, so jumps back into the sea to join his piscine pals.
That’s the end of his story, but the scene has been set for an even greater one, as other fish follow in his footsteps over the next millions of years to become the first amphibians, culminating in a spectacular finale featuring all the creatures of the Earth who owe their existence to one smart fish.
This beautifully illustrated book manages to combine a quirky adventure story and a scientific concept in one charming package.
