It’s a question generations of children have pondered – what DOES Daddy do in between leaving the house in the morning and coming home in the evening? Luckily, this book has the answer, thanks to the active imagination of little Daisy, forced to come up with a job for her dad to compete with the boasting of her nursery companions. So, Daddy complains about the mountains of paperwork he has to get on top of? He must be an explorer. He has to take on a dragon of a boss? Then he’s a knight. He’s so busy he always has to fly? He’s a superhero. This is a delightful way of countering junior one-upmanship and emphasising to youngsters that it really doesn’t matter what Daddy does at work – even if he is an explorersuperknight – because his most important job is, of course, being their Daddy.
