HAVE you ever been tickled pink? Green with envy? Or just plain blue? Well, it's good to know that we all have a rainbow of feelings inside.
Beloved music legend Dolly Parton provides children with a fun way to talk about their feelings in this colorful, upbeat picture book. And by understanding their own feelings, they can learn to respect the feelings of others.
I Am a Rainbow will encourage children of all ages to acknowledge their feelings and take control.
REVIEW
I'm A Rainbow - By Dolly Parton. Published by Puffin books, £6.99
My 3-year-old daughter loved this book, we read it at bedtime together. She enjoyed talking to me about all the different emotions, although she didn't fully understand the correlation between the colour and the emotion (this will obviously come as she gets older).
The illustrations were great too with the brightly coloured backgrounds helping to capture my daughter’s attention and imagination.
The book provoked good conversation about how people are feeling and how people’s actions affect others too (all be it on a very basic level due to her age).
This book definitely has legs! as it will be suitable for children my daughters age and older.
