A SCHOOL will now be able to send its rugby team away on fixtures thanks to a quickthinking member of staff.
Pershore High School’s ICT systems manager Chris Chambers entered a competition last summer when he found an entry in a new computer box.
The competition called Did you Know, was run by computer company Hewlett- Packard and only took him seconds to enter, but he beat more than 459 other applicants to win a 17-seater minibus for the school.
Liz Cartwright, of the public sector marketing (UK&I) imaging and printing group, at HP, who helped deliver their prize, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to give the prize to such a deserving school – it was a pleasure to attend the handover and hear how the bus will make life easier.”
Headteacher Clive Corbett said: “We are delighted that Chris has been so lucky in winning this prize for the school and now, with HP’s generosity, our students will have the opportunity for more trips and visits. As the minibus has 17 seats it allows our rugby teams to travel to away fixtures.”
