Rebecca Dawaes, aged 16, is a student in year 11 at Pershore High School.
Last time I wrote, I was just starting the hard slog of revision. At the moment, it seems to have paid off as I have entered all of my exams so far with more confidence than I probably should have.
Six down, nine to go.
It sounds so awful when it’s put like that. Over the next week I am lucky enough to have six exams within three days – maths, technology, English, geography, chemistry and English.
This half term reality struck and revision has finally taken over my brain.
Every waking second is either spent doing it, avoiding it or feeling guilty about not having done it. It’s been a struggle trying to convince my parents that yes, me and my friends are doing revision in my room and not just going on Facebook.
Yes, the safari park will also be a definite learning experience for me…especially the theme park rides (I need to know about velocity and motion for physics).
However, going out has certainly taken its toll. I am now behind on certain subjects, tired and going to have to cram the night before my exams.
Even writing this article is a way of avoiding reading about empirical formulas for chemistry. Hopefully (I’m crossing fingers and thumbs), all will go well and come results day I will be able to tell the world that I got 600 A*s.
Maybe that will happen, but probably not. At the moment I’m just plodding on and dreaming of the day when I will be free.
June 10...GCSEs are done.
