Two summer events which regularly take place at Tenbury High School are the Tenbury version of ‘Race for Life’ which raises money for Cancer Relief and the Annual School Fete run by the PTFA of the school.
The first event was held very recently at school. All pupils took part, coming to school dressed in as much pink as they wished. There was a competition for the most ‘pink’ pupil and member of staff. Over 500 pink cakes were baked and consumed!
The pupil winner was Morwenna Vaughan and the member of staff was Terry Thacker. Morwenna even started her day off with pink yoghurt. After school the staff took part in a 5K walk or run around St Michaels and a barbecue at the home of Mary Jordan, who had organised the event. A grand total of £700 was raised for the charity.
The next event will be the Fete/Barbecue which takes place on Friday 10th July in the evening at school. We cannot promise 500 pink cakes but we can promise an evening to remember and enjoy, so come along and join us.
