City receives Artsmark gold award


A CREATIVE school in Worcester has been awarded an Artsmark gold.

Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College in Worcester has received the award for the third time in nine years.

The college was among 871 out of 1,676 awarded Arstmark in this round of applications.

Sean Devlin, headteacher of the school, said the award celebrated the opportunities available for students in dance, drama, choir, music, English, orchestra, musical tuition and poetry.

He added: “The award not only recognises the massive opportunities available for our students but also the dedication of teachers and support of parents for our children in these activities. I am very proud that our college has received this award for the third time.”
