Norton Juxta Kempsey CE First: Children run rings around school

TINY tots and superfit schoolchildren have been running around for a good cause.

Youngsters at Norton Juxta Kempsey CE First School were racing to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice in Bath Road yesterday.

Co-organiser Karen Keyte said the event was “a big success” with more than 100 children and parents taking part and another 100 spectating and sponsoring.

Two of the Worcester Warriors squad Rico Gear and Netani Talei also came along to support the event and signed autographs, with back row Talei joining in to do a lap of the school in Littleworth, near Worcester, with the tots from reception.

The upper school completed three laps around the school, with the lower school doing two laps. Mrs Keyte, who plans to run the London marathon in April, said: “We weren’t sure how well it would go until the actual day, but the weather was good and lots of people turned up.”
