A WORCESTER school for blind students is celebrating after receiving new digital headsets.
New College Worcester, in Whittington Road, was given the equipment by the Sony Centre and Specsavers in Worcester.
Specsavers held four coffee mornings in February to raise money for the muchneeded headsets. The Sony Centre also donated a pair.
Fund-raiser Anne Priestley said: “It was marvellous. The college, staff and students are very excited about the new equipment, which will make such a difference.
“The ones we have are so worn out that we have had to use the speakers on the TV, which meant other library users were disturbed.
Now peace has been restored to the library.”
Specsavers store director Alan Richards, left; senior receptionist Val Paine and Sony Centre Worcester manager Kevin Kirkland are pictured presenting the headsets to New College librarian Cathy Wright and head girl Megan Paul.
