NUNNERY Wood Tigers Under 12s smashed the only 100 per cent record remaining in the Stourport Youth League.
They won 1-0 at leaders Warndon Villages Sharks with Will Henshall on target after knocking their Worcester rivals out of the cup earlier in the season.
A tight match saw both teams close each other down quickly and both sets of defenders were on top.
Keeper Toby Wilcox, Lewis Bryant, Keiran Smith, Christian Eyles and captain Harry Loader defended well for Tigers, who scored in the second period with a free-kick from Henshall.
UNDER 15s: Oldbury Park Tigers triumphed 3-0 at Martley following a six-week break due to Christmas and the bad weather.
Passing football was difficult on a muddy pitch but Tigers finally went ahead on 20 minutes through Jordan Murton’s volley from the edge of the box.
With 15 minutes left, Tom Baker added a second with a penalty after he was fouled.
Gavin Murphy fired home David Walker’s pass to complete the scoring.
Kieran Sheen bagged a hattrick in Nunnery Wood Jaguars’ 4-3 victory at Pershore Town, including a last-minute winner.
Jaguars’ first match of 2010 saw them counter-attack to take the lead through Sheen.
In an end-to-end encounter, Ryan Upson scored a second before Sam Steel pulled a goal back.
Although Sheen fired Jaguars 3-1 up, Pershore hit back with two goals to level before Wood’s hat-trick hero raced onto a Sam Jones flick-on to win the match.
UNDER NINES: Harry Cotterill netted twice in Nunnery Wood Scorpions’ 2-0 win over Bewdley Town.
After nearly eight weeks without a match, Scorpions were without several players through illness but Cotterill fired them ahead from Olly Twigg’s corner.
He added a second before half-time from another assist by Twigg.
Jacob Saul was player-ofthe- match for Scorpions.
■ All the goals arrived in the second-half as Welland Juniors Under 15s beat Worcester Wizards 3-1 in the Mercian Festival Junior League.
Welland, whose player-ofthe- match was substitute Jake Lee, controlled the game better after the break and Luke Wellham soon scored the opener.
Adam Powell added a second with an excellent strike in off the bar and Ben Morgan also scored from distance.
Wizards’ efforts were rewarded with a late goal from a counter-attack.
■ Pershore Town Under 12s slipped out of the Ambassador Evesham League Cup with a 1-0 extra-time home defeat to Crowle Searchers.
After a six-week break, Pershore returned to action and dominated the first-half with their five-man midfield.
They could not find the net though and their impressive defence was finally breached in the second period of extratime by Tuft’s diving header.
