ROYAL Grammar School Worcester made it a sporting double over rivals King’s School Worcester with victory in the annual football match.
Captain Dan Hagger, Ollie Steele and Jamie Williams were on target in the firsthalf as RGS recorded a 3-0 victory to retain the Worcester City Cup at St George’s Lane, watched by a crowd of 465.
King’s skipper Dave Stanier was sent off in the secondhalf for two yellow cards, while Seb Marley was denied a fourth for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Anthony Hampson, chairman of host club City, presented the trophy to Hagger as RGS secured the silverware for the third successive season.
It adds to the Upper Tything school’s triumph over King’s in the annual rugby match, won 3-0 at Sixways in December.
