STAFF from the University of Worcester walked a staggering 400 miles as a part of Walk to Work Week 2010.
A total of 67 members of staff signed up for the challenge that saw them walk to, from or during work. The national event, organised by Walking Works, was aimed at lowering the nation’s carbon footprint and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
The challenge took place at the end of April, with more than 10,000 people from workplaces around the UK signing up and walking a collective 71,000 miles.
It is all part of the university’s six-year vision to promote environmentally sustainable ways of working and living, and to act in a sustainable and environmentallyenhancing way.
