THE University of Worcester’s nursery has received top marks in a county council assessment.
Unitots scored top marks in its provision for preschool children based on the Early Childhood Rating Scale (ECERS) – an internationally- recognised evidencebased quality improvement tool.
Worcestershire County Council adopted ECERS as a key indicator of quality and, together with the Ofsted grade, use it to determine eligibility for nursery education funding.
Unitots Nursery has 57 children on roll.
Council assessors assessed against seven scales: space and furnishings, care routines, language/reasoning, activities, interaction, programme structure, parents and staff. The nursery scored top marks in all areas. Further assessment into the curricular extension scale also resulted in very high scoring.
