Early spring brings changeable weather, by the time we reach mid spring the temperature becomes steadily warmer, and towards the end of spring we can experience some very warm even hot spells. During May, warm winds from the south can, and often bring us very warm conditions, but in some years thunderstorms can develop over France, drifting northwards to reach the Midlands by late afternoon and evening, affecting us for several days in succession.
Sometimes they are violent with squally winds and hail which can cause damage to certain crops and plants. Winds whipping up dust within the desert regions of Africa can be transported to Britain, if they encounter rain bearing cloud across the UK, red rain descends upon us, coating windows and windscreens of cars and glasshouses with sand which is clearly visible when the raindrops evaporate.
By mid and late spring the spring growth is well visible, lush and green, everything in tune with nature and fresh.
Humans, the animal kingdom, also the birds and insects react to these conditions. I still believe that the British Climate is the best in the world, its the variability and unpredictable nature of our weather that makes it the main topic of conversation.
