My Fashion Icon is...

My Fashion Icon Is:
Karen Lee Orzolek (Karen O)

Occupation: Vocalist of NY art rock band 'Yeah Yeah Yeahs'

Why I love this person:

I adore Karen’s bravery to wear over-the-top fashion, which is usually designed by her friend, the fashion designer Christian Joy. I idolize her as she manages to look good in everything she wears. Although she dresses outrageously, I feel she dresses in a way that really reflects her quirky personality.

Most iconic outfit:

This outfit - was made by designer Christian Joy (previously mentioned).

I consider this to be Karen’s most iconic outfit, I adore the colour and cut of it. It has an almost circus feel with the shapes and bright colours. The large, ruffled collar makes it look almost like a clown. But her flawless complexion, and Russian doll style make-up makes her look stunning and I love the overall look that she has got from this. With the short hot pants and red tights finishing off the look perfectly.

What else makes them so great?

Karen’s talent really makes her an idol to me, if I could sing like anyone, it would be her. As her voice is so unique, but not perfect. Despite this it still sounds great, and she always manages to look great and show her personality through what she wears. I admire her as she is not exactly Tyra Banks, even though, in my opinion Tyra is not the prettiest model out there. I still think Karen is a beautiful woman and would love to dress like her everyday for the rest of my life.

Fashion Faux Pas

Oh this outfit, it makes me chuckle. It seems that our funky rock chick went a little overboard with this one. Wearing what appears to be a giant spider’s web cross superhero costume. You have to admit though; she is brave for even stepping outside the dressing room with this. I applaud her for being so gutsy; you wouldn’t see me in this. That’s for sure!
