My Fashion Icon is...

My Fashion Icon Is:
Katy Perry

Occupation:

Singer-Songwriter

Why I love this person:

I love Katy Perry because she gives other teenagers and young adults the courage to be able to express yourself in the way that you dress. She can put on the most outrageous outfit and still look great in it. The way that she dresses also gives an impression on her personality and how much of a fun person she would be.

Most iconic outfit:

I feel that this outfit best describes her, the way she works the clothes that she is in really makes her look good. She mixes many different colours and styles, but still manages to make it look effortless. I love her blouse that she is wearing in this too, its very stylish and classy, her whole outfit just looks up-to-date and gorgeous.

What else makes them so great?

I think that Katy is going to have a massive influence on girls as her career grows. Perry's transformation into an artist began with fashion inspired by American film actress Dominique Swaine's portrayal in 1997 film adaptation of the novel Lolita, and she defines her fashion "a bit of a concoction of different things", which is true.

She is not scared to go out looking unique compared to other celebrities who think they have to look good all the time, but she knows this is the real world and that you can never look your best all the time. I also love her music and I think that it reflects her life in the songs that she writes.

Fashion Faux pas:

As soon as I saw this picture, it did make me laugh. Katy was going to the Brit Awards and she certainly wouldn't be forgotten in a long time. She is wearing a Hello Kitty top, with skin tight leggings, original I know! As much as I wanted her to be able to pull this look off, it didn't go down as well as she hoped. Let’s just all hope that she never brings this outfit back out of the closet!
