Saturday, April 4 to Saturday, April 11 - Easter Egg-Stravaganza Superweek

Are you starting to get worried about finding things for the kids to do this Easter? Well if so, ATE might be able to help.

Malvern-based educational trust ATE host a residential Easter ‘Superweek’ (‘The Easter egg-stravaganza’) every year, where children from all over the country come together for a fun-packed week in the Shropshire countryside. Youngsters will be picked up from Worcester by ATE staff (at no extra cost) and taken to their home for the week, the countryside mansion of Moor Park, South Shropshire, home of The Easter Egg-stravaganza for the second year running.

Children get to spend a week enjoying Moor Park’s fantastic facilities, with its huge grounds and woods (great for den-building!), indoor sports hall, swimming pool and cosy dormitories. The Superweekers will also spend one day looking around the nearby historic town of Ludlow, climbing the 300+ steps of St Laurence’s Church tower, visiting the 11th Century castle and no doubt sampling the famous triple chocolate brownies from the market.

Like all of ATE’s residential Superweeks, each day will be packed with imaginative activities that the children will almost certainly have not tried before. ATE uses a huge resource of games, songs, craft activities, puzzles and challenges to keep children entertained from when they wake up, right up until bedtime, where they will be read a story in their dorm by their group leader. ATE’s travel system allows children from all over the UK to share the experience together and become friends, as well as meaning parents only have to make one short journey to a Worcester Train Station or the Warndon Coachway at the start and the end of the week.

Although holiday camps can just seem like an alternative form of childcare, ATE holds a strong belief that a supportive residential holiday is an important part of every child’s development. ATE’s Founding Director, Chris Green says that: “In spending a week away from home with a new group of friends and supportive young adults, children grow in self-confidence and their ability to get on with others. All our centres have huge grounds set in beautiful locations and so ATE Superweeks give children the valuable chance to get away from hectic 21st Century city life and just ‘be children’ for a week”

ATE is a not-for-profit Educational Trust, which means that unlike its commercial competitors, its primary concern is children’s learning and development. All staff on the Superweeks are volunteers. Many are student teachers, teachers, head teachers or others who work with children on a professional basis.

The Easter Egg-Stravaganza Superweek takes place from the April 4 to April 11, and is priced at £335. This covers all activities, food and accommodation for 7 nights, 24/7 care and supervision and accompanied travel to & from Worcester. More information can be found on www.ate.org.uk or by ringing the friendly ATE office team on 08454 561205 (Local Rate).
