26 to 28 May - Discover How Your Garden Grows At Croome Park

Young visitors to Croome Park can get to know their back yards better with a garden themed event during the half term holiday.
The popular visitor attraction, near Pershore, is inviting children and their families to learn more about their gardens at their How Does Your Garden Grow? event on 26, 27 & 28 May from 12pm to 4pm.
The three day event is part of the National Trust’s Food Glorious Food campaign which was launched on 14 May. The campaign aims to help equip the nation’s children with the knowledge and ability to grow their own food and inspire families to enjoy more local and seasonal produce.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover what can be grown in their own back gardens, whether large or small and learn which plants and herbs are edible and which aren’t.
Throughout the afternoons there will be a variety of family activities to join in, including planting seeds, guessing the vegetables in the “feely bags” and following the Grow Your Own family trail. Children can also get creative with vegetable themed colouring sheets.
After all the activity, visitors can relax in the 1940s style canteen and enjoy an ice-cream or a slice of home-made cake. There is also a range of light lunches available, including sandwiches, soup and a selection of drinks.
Caroline Livingston, Visitor Services Manager says: “The event should inspire youngsters to have a go themselves at growing their own food in their back garden.”
The park will be open every day during the half term and the event will run from 26 to 28 May. Normal admission prices apply with a small charge for the activities.
