A new club for junior members of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is being set up at Lower Smite Farm, near Sixways.
Watch out Wednesdays start on Wednesday 20th May at 6pm and will take place on the penultimate Wednesday of each month. The club will provide members with the opportunity to learn more about wildlife and the natural world. Deborah Bull, Education Officer and leader of the new club, explains “This is a great opportunity for children to explore their surroundings, get closer to the wildlife they share it with and learn how we can all make a difference for the natural world. As well as being fun, the club will help its members work through their Wildlife Trust Watch Starlets and Gold awards by designing ongoing activities and projects.”
Watch is the junior membership of the Wildlife Trust and clubs are offered as part of a package that includes a welcome pack, badge, pocket guide and regular newsletters. There are 108,000 Watch members nationally and around 2,500 in Worcestershire. Activities on Watch out Wednesdays are aimed at over-5s and there is a minimal charge of £1.50 per child to cover the cost of resources. A family household membership the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust costs just £42 per year, or Watch membership alone costs £15 per year and includes up to 4 under-16s living at the same address.
Places on Club WoW can be booked on 01905 754919. For more information about Watch, or about how to join the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust visit www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk.
