STOURBRIDGE Theatre Company is getting set to bring to life Noel Coward’s other-worldly comedy Blithe Spirit.
The play, directed by Sandra Griswold, will run at Stourbridge Town Hall from Wednesday November 25 to Saturday November 28.
It centres on socialite and novelist Charles Condomine - who, hoping to gather material for his next book, invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance.
The scheme, however, backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying first wife Elvira, who from then on makes continual attempts to disrupt his marriage to second wife Ruth.
Coward wrote the play in five days in the Welsh village of Portmeirion in the spring of 1941. Claiming it was impossible to write in London because of the noise from the blitz - he hopped on a train to the Italianate village (which later became famous for being the setting for 60s TV series The Prisoner).
Tickets for the show cost £7.50 Wednesday to Friday (£6.50 concessions); £6.50 for the Saturday matinee performance; and £8.50 for the Saturday evening outing.
They are on sale now at Books Unlimited, Lower High Street, Stourbridge, or Dudley Council Plus on 01384 812812 or www.dudley.gov.uk/entertainment
But for a couple of lucky readers The News is giving away two pairs of free tickets for the show on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday - plus two family tickets for the famous Port Meirion village in Wales.
The tickets for Port Meirion are valid until December 2010. Worth £27, they admit two adults and up to three children.
To enter, answer this simple question: What famous TV series was filmed in the village of Port Meirion?
The competition closes on Monday November 16.
Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.
