New recording studio opens its doors in Worcestershire

Creative Design Studios (CDS), based in Stoke Prior, near Droitwich, is a brand new digital multi-track recording studio.

The quarter-of-a-million-pound studio comes complete with luxury surrounds and a range of instruments and new technology.

Studio manager Tom Moore, who runs CDS with studio engineer James Delin, said the studio grew out of a strong demand for space to record new music in.

He said: "I think there’s demand everywhere for new recording studios. There are new recording studios popping up every time some punk gets a new Macbook and a copy of Traktor or Live — in their bedrooms. There’s your demand."

Tom said he and James have worked hard to set CDS apart from other recording studios around the country.

"We own the building CDS is in so ultimately we envisage it being a 24 hour business. The way we’re going to do things will set us apart for sure. We have luxury gear, a dedicated engineer and will eventually bring a concierge service online."

James has many years of experience in the industry which he intends to bring to the studio.

“I have been a musician since I could gurgle, festooned with my first guitar at five years old.

"I formed record label, Angel Recordings, in 2009. I worked with loads of good guys and girls from the South-East corner of the UK.

"I’d always planned to have my own studio. I’d been dry hiring and recording in random places. Tom approached me about this new studio he needed some help with getting off the ground. It was pure old fashioned coincidence, right time, right place and I thought it was too good to be true. Apparently I was wrong.”
