ICONIC Funk band, Sister Sledge will be one of the shining attractions for Upton's Sunshine Music Festival this August.

They will entertain a Worcestershire audience on Sunday, August 28, as part of the band's UK tour.

A spokesman said: "Sister Sledge, famed for their award-winning, worldwide hits such as We are Family, Lost in Music and World, Rise and Shine, have kickstarted their UK summer tour which sees the group bring their groove to summer nights.

"The Sunshine Music Festival, England’s greatest family festival, welcomes Sister Sledge to the stage to entertain the sold out venue."

The spokesman added: "The group, who actively celebrate women empowerment and spotlighting the inequalities and injustice that millions of women face around the world, are soon releasing their new track Women are the Music of the World (WAMOW) in early October. The new track is part of their campaign Nothing Is Greater Than Love (NGTL) which was launched to send a message to their fans of love, empowerment and unity."
