THE Artrix in Bromsgrove is promising "musical treats a-plenty" for this July and August.

And tribute acts will feature heavily for a nostalgic stroll down Memory Lane

A spokesman said: "There will be a range of top quality musical acts gracing the stage at Artrix, beginning with the tribute act, Diamond, on July 20.

"Thought of as the UK’s best tribute to Neil Diamond, Jamie Knight and The Manuka Band perform Neil Diamond’s greatest songs live.

"The entertainment continues as audiences will be transported back to the 1970s with Desperado – the History of the Eagles, an accurate and authentic recreation of Eagles music on July 21, and Abba Reunion, starring the original 'Frida' from the London West End cast, will entertain a local audience on July 22."

The spokesman added: "Rounding things off for this month will be Roxy Magic, the UK’s best and longest running tribute to Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry on July 29.

"And looking ahead to August, The Marley Experience, an eight piece Midlands based band, will be bringing the unforgettable sounds and vibes of Bob Marley to audiences on August 11, followed by Nicola T as Beyonce on August 11. A great night out for ‘all the single ladies’ Nicola has been wowing audiences since 2009 with her live show, featuring hits from Queen B and Destiny’s Child."

Other gigs throughout August include The Lock In ‘Remixed’ and featuring The Demon Barbers on August 13. This show is an exciting celebration of dance culture, "where folk and hip hop unite to stunning effect".

The spokesman said: "The Lock In is a live music and dance extravaganza and the house band, The Demon Barbers, take English Folk music on a new journey with Hip Hop, House, Funk, Disco and even says hello to Drum & Bass and Ska along the way."

Classic Rock ‘n’ Roll arrives with David Hamilton’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Back the Years when it comes to Artrix on August 19.

The spokesman added: "Starring DJ and broadcasting legend ‘Diddy’ David Hamilton, this show features a fantastic live band and David will tell the stories behind the songs that we all know and love, while the musicians and singers storm through some of the greatest songs of the era."
