A LIVELY Malvern band are jumping for joy after receiving their second nomination for the British Blues Awards 2012.

BabaJack, who are made up of Becky Tate, Trevor Steger and Marc Miletitch, find themselves in good company after being put forward in the best acoustic act category.

As one of the top-six outfits they will be up against Chris James, Dave Acari, Eddie Martin, Ian Siegal and Marcus Bonfanti.

This adds to the individual recognition bestowed on Becky in the other instruments category for her tireless African drum, cajon and stomp playing.

Becky said: “We are just blown away. We are the rank outsiders, everyone else in our category are major established blues acts.

“Just the nomination itself is extraordinary. We have had three festivals come our way just on the strength of it and it makes such a difference to our profile.”

They will discover their fate during the Newark Blues Festival which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9.
