Kenneth Branagh is reportedly in talks to play the baddie in the new Jack Ryan movie.

The My Week With Marilyn star is already on board to direct the spy thriller and Variety reports that he now looks set to play the villain in the film, which is currently untitled.

The movie reboot will star Chris Pine as the CIA agent hero of Tom Clancy's spy thriller novels, who has to try to save America after uncovering a terrorist plot.

If Kenneth signs up, he will play a Russian villain who is plotting to ruin the US economy.

The character Jack Ryan has previously been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck on the big screen.
