This Ben Elton musical first opened in the West End in 2003 written around the music of Rod Stewart this cheerful and energetic show is packed with more than 20 of his biggest hits.

Geeky motor mechanic Stuart (Ben Heathcote) is in love with a girl called Mary (Jenna Lee James) he does a deal with Satan (Tiffany Graves) and is given Rod's soul to fulfill his dream of winning over his girl and becoming a rock star whilst living a rock and roll lifestyle on the journey.

Stuart meets Stoner ((Ricky Rojas) a frequently inebriated English rocker who becomes his band mate and before you know it they are touring America without Mary... Stoner was the highlight of the show for me with his brilliant humour and persona adding sparkle to the show.

Fortunately for Stuart he gets a second chance to win back his soul and more importantly Mary.

Tonight's the Night is an all singing, all dancing production that includes smash hits Maggie May, Baby Jane, Sailing - cue, time for audience participation to wear the paper hats given out to them by theatre staff as well as ballads Reason to Believe and I Don't Want to Talk About It.

There is no substitute for seeing the legend himself, however, the show is fun clearly demonstrated by the highly exuberant cast who worked tirelessly throughout and had everyone up on their feet for the mega mix finale.

Runs until Saturday, 5th July at the Bristol Hippodrome.
