Traditional pantomime Dick Whittington is spiced up this festive season with Britain's Got Talent winner Ashleigh and her amazing performing dog Pudsey, add a few current hit songs - Happy, All About That Bass, Ghost blended with Bristol's very own Andy Ford and you have the ingredients for a Christmas Cracker.

Writer/Director Eric Potts is the effervescent panto Dame as Sarah the Cook, is hugely entertaining and a firm favourite.

Panto in Bristol would not be the same without Andy Ford, this year as Idle Jack who has a wonderful rapport with the audience.

Ashleigh as Alice Fitzwarren apart from doing tricks with Pudsey which were great (I would liked to have seen more) also sang a number of songs.

Dick Whittington was played by CBeebies Mr Bloom the charming Ben Faulks.

Fairy Bowbells former X Factor contestant Brenda Edwards in 2005 has a powerful voice and was full of exuberance and vitality.

Queen Rat - Lara Denning was suitably evil to ensure plenty of hisses and boos, whilst Hayley Jane Goold was a very flexible and lithe Tommy the Cat.

Musical Director Malcolm Forbes-Peckham and the orchestra did a fine job keeping the show moving along at a pace.

Last but not least the young people from the Bristol School of Dancing are delightful and full of energy.

This entertaining and colourful show has spectacular sets and runs until Sunday, 4th January.
