GEN11 better known as the magnificent, magical car in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang arrived in Bristol in all its splendour for the last two weeks of the nationwide tour.

Regardless of your age, Chitty brings back wonderful memories, Caracatus the slightly eccentric inventor, Truly Scrumptious, the adorable children Jeremy and Jemima and of course the notorious Child Catcher.

Caracatus was played by Jason Manford maybe better know as a stand up comedian who ably sang and danced.

Accomplished Charlotte Wakefield who has been nominated twice for Best Actress in a musical at the Olivier Awards was a super Truly Scrumptious showcasing her vocals, Doll on a Music Box was divine.

Other well known names in the show are Claire Sweeney as Baroness Bomburst and Phill Jupitus as the Baron, their rendition of Chu-Chi Face will bring a smile.

Boris and Goran the Vulgarian spies ensured plenty of laughs throughout.

The Potts children, one of three pairs, were played on the opening night by Finn Richards and Emma Jane Shorrocks both hugely talented and potential stars of the future, confident and charming.

Jos Vantyler's performance as the very scary Child Catcher was fabulous as was his costume and make up, the full house showing their appreciation at the end with deafening boos.

Me Ol' Bamboo performed by Potts and the Company was heart warming.

On a chilly January evening Chitty Chitty Bang Bang lit up a dark winters night.
