THERE will be a Lot of Laureates at This Year’s Mello Festival.

Organisers of Mello Festival have announced a bumper line-up of poets at this May’s three day event, with the introduction of a dedicated spoken word stage named Mello Musings.

A spokesman said: “In addition to the three main music stages featuring a huge diversity of acts such as Soul II Soul, Badly Drawn Boy, Electric Swing Circus and Toyah, this new venue will delight festival goers whether they are seasoned poetry fans or simply curious to hear something a bit different.

“Local poet Amy Rainbow who has programmed the poetry for Mello Musings is confident that there will be something to suit all tastes.

She said: “I’m really excited about the performers we’ve booked. I love spoken word artists who can make me laugh, make me angry, make me sad, or make me think. These poets do all of that.”

The Mello Festival will take from May 25 to May 27.
