A WALK down Memory Lane to the classic rock years will be on offer at the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester, when the former Magnum keyboard player Mark Stanway looks back on four decades in the music business and also performs.

A spokesman said: “An Evening with Mark Stanway provides fans with a unique opportunity to engage with one of the UK’s most respected keyboard players in the intimate setting of Worcester’s Huntingdon Hall. This highly entertaining up close and personal show is a definite must see, not only for Magnum fans but also for anyone with an interest in classic rock music and the inner workings of the music industry.

“This stage show will be illustrated with a slide and video show featuring previously unseen material from Mark’s private archive. There will also be a questions and answers session, a keyboard demonstration and impromptu playing that demonstrates Mark’s diversity, as well as a memorabilia raffle. And the evening would, of course, not be complete without live performances of some of Mark’s best loved contributions to Magnum’s rich musical legacy.”

The spokesman added: “Join Mark as he reminisces about his career that has spanned over four decades as a touring and recording musician.

“With Mark on keyboard duty Magnum’s breakthrough album came in 1985 with On A Storyteller’s Night. This success continued the following year with the Roger Taylor produced Vigilante in 1986, the top 5 album Wings Of Heaven in 1988, and the Keith Olsen produced Goodnight L.A. which reached No. 9 in the UK album charts in 1990.”

Magnum formally split in 1995, but six years later they reformed and released the album Breath Of Life in 2002, with Mark once again playing keyboard. But in December 2016 Mark made the decision to leave the band again.

The date for the diary is Friday, May 18, from 7.30pm.
