CAST of more than 40 will help a village theatre company bring Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to life.
The Cradley Players will perform their original adaptation of the 19thcentury tale at Cradley First School, near Malvern, in February. Rehearsals for the sophisticated production with a strong contemporary edge are now under way.
Members are busy creating a triangular stage for the large cast, while technicians will use vibrant sound and light to stir up the right atmosphere.
The play will run from Monday, February 16, to Saturday, February 21.
Tickets, priced £8 or £25 for a family, are available from Cradley Post Office and Stores.
Carroll’s novel, which tells of young Alice discovering the fantastical world of the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts, was published in 1865 and has been adapted to film 18 times. The earliest stage adaptation, a musical play, premiered at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London in 1886.
