A BRAND new show made especially to be performed in care homes has been created by the city's Vamos Theatre.
Sharing Joy has been commissioned by Sanctuary Care as part of their Shine project which was launched to shine a light on the talents of care home residents through a variety of creative arts.
Vamos regulars Richard J Fletcher, Sarah Hawkins and Marissa Gunter take part in the interactive performance directed by Rachael Savage.
Sharing Joy features scenes set in the 1940s and 1950s, with courting couples, wartime nurses, 1950s swing dancing and plenty of fun and laughter
Even Elvis himself makes a special guest appearance.
Each scene has nostalgic music from the eras, beautiful costumes, and hand crafted masks.
The show tours to eleven Sanctuary care homes in Worcestershire, Birmingham and Weston-super-Mare and continues the growing partnership between Vamos and Sanctuary.
It builds on the performances and training Vamos has already developed for care home residents and staff.
Sharing Joy aims to engage residents of all ages and stages of health, through full mask, music, dance, movement and interaction, and to find deep connections with all involved.
