A MODERN ballet to celebrate Oscar Wilde’s 160th Anniversary will be coming to The Swan Theatre, Worcester, on Thursday, October 30.

Chantry Dance Company brings The Happy Prince and two other original ballets to commemorate Wilde’s birth.

Adapted and choreographed by West End and Sadler’s Wells performers, Paul Chantry and Rae Piper, The Happy Prince tells the story of a prince who gives away all his wealth to the poor people of his kingdom with the help of a swallow.

In life, spending every day in his wonderful palace, the Prince had no idea how his people suffered.

It is only after he becomes a statue overlooking the city that he learns the truth.

There will also be performances of All I Can Do Is Be Me, set to Bob Dylan’s best best-loved songs, and Gershwin’s famous jazz concerto Rhapsody in Blue presented as a dynamic duet.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £12.50, are available by calling 01905 611427.
