A CAST of more than 60 performers will take part in a commemoration of the First World War with a spectacular evening of song, dance and comedy.

Music from the 1940s through to modern songs by Michael Jackson and One Direction will be performed when Worcester Musical Theatre Company put on Never Forget at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.

Thirty four members of the company will be joined by a team of 26 dancers from Worcester-based Harlequin Stage School and two teams of 13 children from Claines CofE Primary School.

Ken Knight, from Worcester Music Theatre Company, said: "Never Forget is a complete mix of allsorts of music from absolutely modern hits by Michael Jackson and One Direction to two extremely moving sections which focuses on children in the 1940s.

"As well as the company, we have Harlequin Stage School taking part then there is a remembrance section with buglers and Royal British Legion standard bearers."

Proceeds from the show will go to the Royal British Legion as well as Help for Heroes and there will also be a poppy drop to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.

As well as music and dancing, there will be comedy elements from Paul Bellamy and Ann Mayor.

Mr Knight said: "The show is in nine different sections which range from 1940s and the Big Band era as well as a swing section and modern music.

"It's a family revue which is full of dancing, singing and and comedy."

Tickets have already sold out for the Saturday night performance but are still available for Tuesday, November 4 through to Friday, November 7.
