PREPARE to board a magic carpet and be transported to a land of mystical lamps, generous genies and plenty of family fun.

The talented young students from All Sorts of Performing Arts are putting the finishing touches to their first ever pantomime Aladdin.

The show, which will be performed at Worcester Arts Workshop, Sansome Street, has given the children a chance to develop their skills and given them the opportunity to star on the stage.

Watch as Aladdin set off on a quest to win the love of the beautiful princess while attempting to escape the wrath of the evil Grand Vizier and an overzealous police officer.

Helping - or rather trying their best to help - him along his way is his mother Widow Twanky, his brother Wishie Washie and the magical assistance in the form of the Genie Of The Ring and the powerful Genie of The Lamp.

Aladdin has been written by city-based script-writers Sauce City Scripts.

A spokesman for All Sorts, which are based at the workshop, said: "The students have worked extremely hard over the last four months and are given the opportunity to perform starring roles.

"The show is a family show for everyone with fun songs lots of jokes and is a great start your Christmas season.

"This being their first major production at the workshop which All Sorts want to bring families in to watch with more family shows set to be performed in 2015."

Aladdin opens on Friday, December 5 at 7pm.

There are 2pm and 7pm shows held on Saturday, December 6 as well as a 3pm show on Sunday, December 7.

Tickets cost £10 adults, £8 children and concessions and a family ticket for £32.
