THE memory of a city theatre stalwart will be celebrated during a village drama group's Christmas This n That show.

Members of Rushwick Drama Group are making the final preparations to their festive show which will be held in memory of director Ann Moore.

Ann Moore, who lived in the village, passed away at St Richard's Hospice following a battle with cancer on Saturday, September 27 - a day before her 80th birthday.

All profits from Christmas This n That will go to St Richard's.

She was integral in setting up Rushwick Drama Group, directing their twice-yearly performances, and has also directed many Swan Theatre Amateur Company plays.

And now the 18 remaining members of Rushwick Drama Group will be paying tribute to her at their This n That evening on Monday, December 1 at Rushwick Village Hall.

Member Bev Webber said: "She was a lovely woman.

"She was involved with the Swan Theatre and did an awful lot of productions there and was involved with Rushwick Drama Group since its inception.

"This n That has a bit of everything - we've got a short Cinderella panto, then we have a couple of fete things like a guess the weight of the cake as well as a bit of a sing song.

"It's a way to remember Ann as well as raise money for St Richard's.

"She was a school teacher and we used to say she treated us like her pupils because she could be quite strict but she didn't mean it.

"She always did the best for the group - the success of all our plays was down to her.

"Few of us are directors and Ann wrote a book about directing which I think we will be using quite a bit now."

Christmas This n That starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £7 including a ploughman's supper (bring your own drink and glasses).
