PHOTOGRAPHERS who have captured haunting images of abandoned houses or spooky locations can submit them for a ghostly gallery ahead of a spine-chilling show.

The Courtyard in Hereford is appealing to photographers to submit images for an exhibition starting in January.

Photographs of spooky goings-on or eerie scenes will go on display in the foyer of the arts arts centre to complement its suspense season from January to March.

It will also coincide with Middleground Theatre Company's production of Classic Ghosts starring Jack Shepherd, Terrence Hardiman and Dicken Ashworth running from Wednesday, February 11 to Saturday, February 14.

The panel will be looking for creative pictures that send a chill down the spine and inspire feelings of dread and trepidation, particularly any that are taken in Herefordshire and border counties.

The aim will be to include all submissions that meet the criteria of being suspenseful but will depend on the volume submitted.

The exhibition will run from Monday, January 19 to Saturday, February 14.

Applicants may submit a maximum of three photographs each and photographs can be taken especially for the project as well as previously submitted or exhibited works.

To apply, send the photographs along with a caption of no more than 50 words detailing exactly where it was shot, and explaining its meaning and context to competitions@courtyard.org.uk or send a link to your online portfolio.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, January 14 at 5pm.
