THE delightful Fleece Inn, Bretforton will be the setting for the magical performance fairytale of the man who can spin straw into gold.

Fusing wonderful storytelling, energetic performances and wild imagination, Northumberland Theatre Company will perform an adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin.

The company's version of the classic Grimm fairytale is performed with witty rhyming couplets, songs and music for everyone to enjoy.

They will be performing an adaptation of the children's favourite fairytale by acclaimed Olivier Award winning children's playwright Mike Kenny.

Rumpelstiltskin is about a King whose kingdom is going to rack and ruin as crops fail and his subjects are getting really annoyed.

When he is helped out by a Miller's daughter who can spin straw into gold, little does he know her secret bargain with an odd stranger who's promised to help her out.

The tale itself rattles along with some dark and deliciously scary moments as she must disc so we suggest that brave children think very hard about bringing accompanying adults of a nervous disposition!

Northumberland Theatre Company is a professional small-scale touring theatre company based at the Playhouse, Alnwick. They tour shows around the country, predominantly in small rural towns and villages.

Rumpelstiltskin will be performed on Tuesday, January 20 at 7:30 PM
