A FULL mask theatre company based on Worcester are celebrating after being awarded Arts Council England funding.

The money will help to support its national touring production for 2016, The Best Thing as well as developing a version of a previous show, Finding Joy, for international touring.

The Best Thing will be a story about children separated from parents, and promises to be a poignant and humorous tale of mistaken morals, sexual revolution and unconditional love delivered in Vamos’s trademark style.

The show is to be developed as a co-commission with the prestigious London International Mime Festival, and will appear as part of LIMF 2016 as well as touring the UK in the first half of the year.

Rachael Savage, the company’s artistic director, said: "We are utterly delighted by the news.

"This Arts Council funding award demonstrates the trust placed in us to deliver the highest quality work, and it enables us to continue to grow as an arts organisation in Worcestershire."

Vamos Theatre is currently in rehearsal for its upcoming national tour Nursing Lives which opens on Wednesday, February 11 and tours nationally until finishing back at the Swan in Worcester on the June 5 and 6.
