AN EXHIBITION of photographic prints has opened at Barbourne Health Centre in Droitwich Road, Worcester.

A Picture for Heath will be in place for three months with more than 60 colourful pictures on display across the building’s two floors.

The photographic prints are the work of members of Worcestershire Camera Club, who were given the brief to take pictures that lift the spirit, and can be viewed by members of the public during the health centre’s opening hours.

Roger Plant, publicity officer for the club, said: “People will be inspired by some of the images.

“There are a diverse range of photographs including landscape, wildlife and semi-abstract shots.

“All of the members who are exhibited are pretty experienced photographs so the displayed work is expert stuff.

“The ‘lift the spirit’ theme is particularly apt for the health centre where people will be sitting in a waiting room or visiting a doctor and may have health concerns that make them depressed or worried.

“Hopefully the photographs will transform the atmosphere a little and inspire some people.”

Mr Plant added that all of the photographs, which each include a short narrative, are for sale and hopes they will prove popular as gifts.

A visitor book has been left in the centre for members of the public to leave comments on the exhibition and the feedback has been very positive.

One person wrote “an inspiring exhibition which will gladden many hearts and minds” while others stated “wonderful- such a marvellous idea” and “if creativity could cure”.

Worcestershire Camera Club is a “friendly club aiming to encourage the enjoyment and practice of photography”, according to its website.
