THE city's full mask theatre company has made its international debut this July performing at the Jyväskyla Festival in Finland.
Finding Joy, Vamos Theatre Company’s production exploring dementia which toured the UK in 2013 and 2014, will form part of this eclectic event, Finland’s longest established city festival.
The show, performed like all Vamos’s work with no words, will be re-worked to a shorter length to suit the requirements of international touring and perform at Jyväskyla between July 7 and 12.
It may then spend a week at the Edinburgh International Festival in August.
Rachael Savage, Vamos’s artistic director, said: “Mask theatre is a perfect medium for an international audience to appreciate, with no language barrier to overcome.
"We are truly delighted to be taking Vamos to Finland and beyond, thanks in large part to the work of our Creative Producer, Penny Mayes, and very proud to be taking Worcester-grown theatre into the international arena.”
