THE UK is in crisis, unemployment on the rise and the coalition government is creaking at the seams.
Thankfully, that is not a description of the country ahead of one of the most anticipated general elections in generations.
It is the situation facing Jim Hacker in the Norbury Theatre's production of Yes, Prime Minister.
The play is a modern reworking of the BBC classic and a light-hearted relief from the politics of the real world.
Led by a strong cast, with Paul Bellamy in the lead role, the sharp script is packed full of topical humour and revolves around a diplomatic dilemma involving the fictitious nation of Kumranistan.
Directed by Alan Humphries, the show runs at the Friar Street venue from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18 and again from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25.
Performances start at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10 and £9.
