GRAB your cricket bats and spades and head to The Swan Theatre for Shaun of the Dead Live on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22.

Almost Legal Productions has brought to life the cult-favourite movie which starred Simon Pegg as Shaun and Nick Frost as best friend Ed.

In Shaun of the Dead, life is going nowhere for Shaun who spends his life in his local pub with his best mate Ed and has issues with his Mum and step-dad.

Things are also not running too smoothly with his girlfriend Liz who goes on to dump him.

Shaun finally decides to get his life in order by winning back Liz's heart, repairing his relationship with his mum and face up to his responsibilities.

Unfortunately, there is a slight problem with the world being taken over by zombies who are attempting to eat the living.

For the newly inspired Shaun, this is just another obstacle.

In the face of a full scale zombie epidemic, and armed with a cricket bat and his best mate with a spade, Shaun and Ed go to rescue Liz, her friends, his mum and, grudgingly, his step-dad, and take them to the safest most secure place he knows.

The collective theatre and film production company, based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, secured the rights to the box office smash hit, cult status horror-comedy movie, Shaun of the Dead, and is now touring their live stage show version.

Not only that, but just before one of the company’s preview shows in October, they received the ultimate seal of approval when Simon Pegg tweeted: "Good luck or I should say, lose a leg, to Almost Legal’s production of Shaun of the Dead Live tonight in Stroud."

ALP has cut its teeth on some of the most difficult-to-stage productions, making them well equipped to take the most all-out zombie UK comedy favourite and bring it to the stage.

The show has audience participation aplenty, goody bags complete with all the kit required to take part and a good dose of tongue-in-cheek musical numbers.

The show begins at 7.30pm.

Tickets, costing £15, are available by calling 01905 611427 or logging on to theswantheatre.co.uk.
