A DOUBLE bill of comedic plays will benefit charities when they are performed at Malvern Cube on Saturday, May 23.

Secretarial Services and Waiting For A Friend will be performed by The Offstage Theatre Group at the second venue of the six-venue tour.

Secretarial Services was written by Peter Quilter and is directed by Lloyd Morgans taking place in the apartment of colourful, self made businessman Barrie.

Barrie and his secretary Janet are preparing for a party.

As they discuss getting older, love and marriage, it becomes clear that Janet may have more to offer Barrie than just "Secretarial Skills".

Waiting For A Friend was written and directed by Barnaby Eaton-Jones, from Worcester, who won four awards on its initial tour.

Norman Fairbanks is a man who likes the outdoors.

A creature of habit, he spends every lunchtime on the same park bench and eats his neatly-packaged packed lunch whilst admiring the views of Mother Nature.

However, there is nothing Norman likes more than to talk and, within the course of this lunchtime, his unexpected companions on his favourite bench get a bit more than they bargained for when they briefly enter his domain.

Both of the one-act plays are being performed in aid of Shriver Deaf School, India, and other Rotary Club charities.

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 available from ticketsource.co.uk/theoffstagetheatregroupotos.
