THERE will be laughs aplenty when a city centre bar holds its monthly comedy club on Friday, June 5.

Lining up to provide the laughs this month at Mode in Angel Place will be Colin Cole, Ian Crawford and Scott Bennett.

Cole is an amiable Aussie comic who has been stopped in the street by perfect strangers to tell him how tall he is standing at 6 foot 7.

Delighting in his height, Cole looms over the stage and begins his act with the firmly tongue-in-cheek question: "Everybody see me all right?"

While his anecdotal tales of life as one of the tallest people on the planet provide some of the core material of a top class comedy act that has wowed punters the world over.

His natural wit and a winningly mocking manner are enhanced by some enviable performance skills honed in his other field as a dramatic and comic actor.

Comedy character act Ian Crawford proves that health and safety has gone mad in his role as an adviser from the Steel and Cutlery Manufacturers Association.

Based in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham, Ian is performing regular paid slots in and around the Midlands including appearances for Funhouse Comedy, Ship of Fools and Ha Ha Comedy.

He also appears regularly advising diners on the safe use of cutlery at corporate functions and weddings.

Third act Scott Bennett started out in comedy in late 2009 and has rapidly established himself as one of the fastest rising stars on the UK circuit.

With a warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic.

Scott delivers wry observations on the absurdity of modern living.

His sharply written routines have been delighting audiences across the country.
