HAVING collected over 30 major awards including the Olivier and Tony Awards for best new play it is clear to see why The History Boys was voted the nation's favourite play.

And now Alan Bennett's play will be coming to Malvern Theatres as part of a major new countrywide tour playing at the theatre from Monday, June 29.

It follows the story of a group of bright, funny and unruly sixth-formers in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university.

Their maverick English teacher is at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher, while their headmaster is obsessed with results and league tables.

Staffroom rivalry and the anarchy of adolescence overflow, provoking insistent questions about history and how you teach it.

Their A Levels may be over, but their true education is only just beginning.

It runs until Saturday, July 4 with tickets available on 01684 892277 or at malvern-theatres.co.uk.
