THE JOYFUL madness of writer Edward Lear will be on display at Ledbury's Market Theatre, next month, for a family-friendly show.

Soap Soup Theatre will bring "The Owl and the Pussycat's Treasury of Nonsense" to the venue on February 14, from 3pm.

A spokesman said: "Alone in his Treasury, The CareTaker makes order of the chaos, battening down the hatches of fancy.

"A mischievous visitor is determined to remind him that he too could be an adventurer if only he were willing to set the fantastic free. But can the CareTaker let go of his rules and regulations and allow himself to sail away to the land of the Owl and the Pussycat?

"Inspired by the works of Edward Lear, Soap Soup presents another feast for the eyes, ears and imagination. With their delightfully unpredictable story telling style, hilarious characters and magical puppetry, they present a collection of nonsense and fun, bigger and better than ever before."
