LEDBURY Amateur Dramatics Society (LADS) are famous for their family pantomimes, and this year the group has pulled a real Wild West cracker from their cupboard.

Old Mother Hubbard is being billed as "A Wild West Pantomime Adventure", with time-travel and mystery in the entertaining mix.

A spokesman said: "On the verge of being evicted from their home, Old Mother Hubbard, her son, Hughie and Polly, her pretty young daughter are granted a wish by the Good Fairy to try and find their long lost Uncle Oswald. "In a blinding flash of light they are magically transported to a sun-baked prairie in the Wild, Wild West."

Enter Tex Laramie, a tall, dashing young cowboy, along with his sidekick Old Tumbleweed, a bewhiskered, disreputable but likeable old-timer. Together they all set out to unravel the mystery of Uncle Ossie’s disappearance.

The spokesman added: "Along the way, among the many characters they meet are the villainous Matt Vinyl and his cronies, the seductive Miss Lulabelle, the beautiful young squaw Little Deer and the imposing Big Chief Thundercloud.

"Add rip-roaring Wild West songs and spectacular dance numbers, twirling lassos, the obligatory saloon swing doors and plenty of really awful jokes, and we are left with a hugely entertaining show for all ages; - Oh yes we are!"

Performance dates will be: Thursday 21 though to Saturday 23 January and Wednesday 27 through to Saturday January 30, at 7:30pm.

There will be matinées on Saturday January 23 and January 30 and Sunday January 24, at 2:30pm.
